Ruth Revisited.

What's going on here?

Total serendipity.  I happened to be wearing a purple shirt when the notice from Long Awkward Poses came through, announcing the release of a new set of poses — Jazzhands.  The notecard explains that this set is a bit of a tongue-in-cheek homage to all the early jazzhands freebie poses.  These new poses are fun and adorable, with modern posing sophistication instead of the bone-breaking awkwardness of early poses.  Anyway, the purple shirt reminded me of our painfully awkward outfit at rezzing, and I knew immediately that I wanted to give Ruth a modern makeover to show off the new posing fun.

No, it couldn't be!

If you were lucky or unlucky enough to be rezzed as Ruth, this look is immediately recognizable.  It may inspire a bit of terror or revulsion, but look again. Little Ruthie actually looks cute now, with quality clothing, pretty skin, attached hair, and frankenfeet.  The subtly wrinkled boatneck top from fri.day looks soft and luxurious; Zaara jeans are perfection, with the way the fabric is worn and faded in just the right spots, with the wrinkles placed just so.

Have I been Ruthed?

Have I been Ruthed?

The Cosmo hairstyle from Bryce is a lot of fun by itself, and the primwork, especially in the back, is just stunning — really well-done.  The skin is an Expo special from Adam n Eve, the Foxy Amanda skin.  The Amanda skin is one of my favorites right now — she really fits my face and personality nicely, and the body shading is as stunning as any of Adam n Eve’s skins.  (Especially when compared to those awful rubber masks we were rezzed in!)

Finally, we arrive at the frankenfeet.  I stopped by SLink and found these gladiator flats, and they complete the look perfectly.  I’m still getting the hang of tinting the feet, but the SLink system is fairly intuitive and easy to use.  Yes, I’ve fought against wearing attached feet for a long time, but I’m slowly but surely coming to the dark side.  In this case, didn’t think it would be fair to do this look celebrating advances in avatar appearance without going for the prim footage.  Just look at the difference between the system foot on the left, and the prim foot on the right.    It’s hard to argue against progress when it looks as good as this.

This is such a clever idea! Original Ruth should die and be replaced with your version.

Thanks Cat! Though, I think I’m happy to let Ruth rest in peace. :D
